After the years 2015 and 2016, our Director, Mr. Jens Dröge, will again take up a teaching assignment at the Landshut University in 2017. As in the past three years, Mr. Dröge will lecture the students on the Principles of International Management where he will be able to pass on his experience from various management functions and responsibilities.
His aim is mainly to ensure that the students understand the contents and characteristics of international corporate management, develop an overview of the contents and processes, learn to deal with an increasing complexity in international corporate management issues, and should be able to deal with strategic considerations and methods competently at the international stage.
As in the previous years, the sessions are organized as block lectures and the language of instruction is English. Based on a case study and business models, the students will learn how to introduce an already existing product into an economically emerging country. The prerequisite is that this product is not yet available in the country concerned.
The countries of the MSCI World Index form the basis of the course. In order to successfully assess their strategy, the students will not only need to deal with the economic realities, but also with socio-cultural aspects of a possible market entry. To this end, they will have to evaluate statistical data in order to assess the purchasing power or economic potential of the target country. Furthermore, the students are required to understand existing models from textbooks and correctly implement them on the problem.
The students will eventually present their findings in the plenary session in the form of an informative presentation and address questions from the audience. This presentation is also done in English and together with a handout, it represents the completion of the work as well as the course.
